Summary

Joybuy POP is JD.com's third-party marketplace business across the UK, Germany, France, and Benelux, live in beta mode since July 2026 and scaling fast. We're now moving from a high-touch launch model into a phase where seller acquisition and account management need to scale efficiently — bringing on sellers faster and managing a growing base without linear headcount growth.

We're looking for a Director to own the full seller lifecycle at scale: acquisition, onboarding, and ongoing account management across all four markets. This is a build role — you'll design the operating model, tooling, and team structure that lets Joybuy POP grow seller count 5-10x without proportional cost growth.

What you'll do

  • Own the scaled acquisition strategy — building repeatable, largely self-serve pathways for onboarding long-tail and mid-tier sellers across UK/DE/FR/Benelux, distinct from high-touch strategic seller acquisition
  • Redesign the account management model as the seller base scales, segmenting sellers by tier/potential and matching service model (self-serve, pooled, or dedicated AM) accordingly
  • Build and lead the scaled AM team, growing it efficiently as the seller base expands, with clear productivity benchmarks per headcount
  • Define and track the core acquisition and AM funnel metrics (time-to-first-sale, activation rate, seller GMV retention, AM:seller ratios) and report through WBR/MBR cadences
  • Partner with Compliance, Product, and Integrator teams to remove onboarding friction and improve seller time-to-launch
  • Own the seller segmentation and prioritization framework — deciding which sellers get white-glove treatment vs. scaled/self-serve support
  • Identify and implement tooling/automation to reduce manual AM effort as volume grows
  • Represent scaled acquisition and AM in the broader 2027 Scale strategic planning process

What we're looking for

  • Experience building or scaling a marketplace seller acquisition or account management function from the ground up, ideally in a 3P/multi-sided marketplace environment
  • Track record of designing tiered service/segmentation models that balance growth with cost efficiency
  • Strong data orientation — comfortable setting and defending productivity/funnel benchmarks, presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Experience managing multi-market teams (UK/DE/FR/Benelux or similar) and navigating market-specific nuances
  • Team-building experience — has hired and scaled a function, not just managed an existing one
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, still-forming organization where process is being built as you go

At JD.com, we’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and make all employment decisions without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
