This role has primary responsibility for accurate and timely financial reporting under both US GAAP and statutory reporting under IFRS/FRS.  The role is responsible to implement appropriate control processes, ensuring compliance with both internal and external financial policies and procedures.  It is also responsible to deliver appropriate internal control review processes/gap assessments to identify weaknesses and put corrective actions in place.

The role will partner with other business process owner (supply chain, procurement, external manufacturing, engineering etc.) and the new manufacturing site to provide guidance regarding the financial and compliance implications of new processes or changes to existing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction for the Kinsale General Accounting, P2P and Fixed Asset Team.
  • Recruit, mentor, coach and develop team members.
  • Collaborate with financial business partners (Financial Planning & Reporting, Tax, Global Business Solutions and Corporate, External Manufacturing and intercompany sites) to ensure accurate and timely month end close processes, providing appropriate accounting instructions as necessary under US GAAP.
  • Own all aspects of financial and SOX compliance for all entities, collaborating closely with internal and external audit groups and Financial Controls office.
  • Own the delivery of robust internal quality review processes and ensure appropriate mitigating controls are in place.
  • Own the delivery of local statutory financial reporting for all entities and support group consolidation statutory reporting under FRS/IFRS.
  • Together with sister entities, own financial aspects of Intercompany inventory processes, including product costing, inventory controls, variance analysis and reporting.
  • Own delivery of external reporting to government and other statutory agencies.
  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly cashflow and FX exposure forecasts to corporate tax and treasury teams, facilitating capital distributions in compliance with local company law requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Global Business Services center to maintain robust purchase to pay processes and on-time payment to external vendors.
  • Collaborate with engineering function to deliver compliant capital asset accounting processes, supporting capital investment decision making and capitalization.
  • Support local payroll processing including accounting for Retirement Benefits Plans.
  • Collaborate closely with Corporate Financial planning and reporting, corporate treasury, and corporate and local tax teams.
  • Drive process improvements across the area with a continuous improvement mindset.

Basic Requirements:

  • Accountancy qualification with 5 - 10 years PQE, preferably in manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate in a team environment and a strong interest and passion for leading people. 
  • Demonstrated self-management, prioritization, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships across all levels in the organisation and externally.  
  • Broad manufacturing business knowledge.
