Position Brand Description:
The Associate Director for Engineering - Major Capital is responsible for the supervision of user reps and design leads and for providing leadership, direction and oversight for projects that support the site priorities (business, capacity, tech agenda, etc) within the Indianapolis API manufacturing plant. The team primarily supports projects >$10MM. The Associate Director will partner with site functions and Global Facilities Delivery (GFD) to influence and implement both within the Operations organization and across functional disciplines. The Associate Director is also responsible for (a) the productivity and development of direct employees, (b) deployment of project management principles, and (c) delivery of major capital investments that meet IAPI needs, including ensuring alignment to health, safety and environmental and quality compliance expectations.
Administrative Leadership and Organizational Capability
Supervise and coach engineering disciplines that support major capital projects
Complete performance reviews and employee development planning
Ensure staff are qualified and that the required initial and continuing training of all personnel is carried out and adapted according to need.
Staffing, including recruiting, resource planning and succession planning.
Prioritize and coordinate projects through collaboration with site lead team, flow teams and process teams as necessary.
Drive continual improvement of business process performance.
Manage changes within project execution.
Interface with key customers and stakeholders to create value and ensure commitments are understood and met.
Operational Excellence
Demonstrate a commitment to environmental, health, and safety (including PSM).
Identify, track, and report key indicators of functional performance.
Ensure team is operating in a state of compliance.
Basic Requirements:
Process Engineering, Project Management or large project design/delivery experience required, supervision experience desired
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering (preferably Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
Additionally, minimum of 5 years of engineering manufacturing-related experience, preferably biotech/API experience

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$123,000 - $198,000Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
