Pattern is expanding and we are looking for an Associate Director of eCommerce to join our European Team in London to support the scaling of the business by driving the performance of the brands we represent on Amazon and other Marketplaces.

This is a commercial leadership role with Europe wide responsibilities. The role reports into the VP of eCommerce and it will lead a team of (Senior) eCommerce Managers. The team is expanding fast due to growth ambitions. 

You will be responsible for the relationship and financial performance of the portfolio of global brands that your team manages. You will support and coach your team in defining and implementing the E2E growth and profitability plan the portfolio of brands managed by your team by working cross-functionally with Operations, Content, Advertising, Creative, Merchandising and Finance. You will also identify opportunities to increase efficiencies and best practises by leading cross-functional projects to implement processes to scale the organisation in the EU. 

You are a strategic and commercial Leader who can engage partners and internal stakeholders towards a common goal. You display a high level of emotional intelligence and have a track record of developing people to perform at their best. You have a growth mindset and can lead a team through the ambiguity of fast changing landscapes. 

The core responsibilities of the Associate Director eCommerce reflect the following:

  • Leading strategic accounts across Europe to grow the business both locally and globally where applicable.

  • Lead key projects across the business which step change our operations and processes to drive our efficiencies and best practice.

  • Leadership of 3/4 (senior) brand managers within your remit alongside the ongoing management of both key internal and external stakeholders

  • Driving revenue growth on marketplaces across Europe through a data driven approach across a portfolio of brands through B2B and D2C marketplaces. Ensuring that a clear activity plan is in place to achieve and surpass the budget targets, including promotional planning, seasonal phasing, NPD launches, advertising campaigns etc.

  • Define the strategy and joint business plan with each brand to create mutually beneficial sales plans which grow market share.

  • Proactively manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure that an efficient operation is delivered across the end to end value chain. Leading by example by getting into the detail and relentlessly seeking out opportunities to drive sales and remove defects.

  • Ensuring that your brands are represented brilliantly across the Marketplaces through best in class product content, including but not exclusive to; images, enhanced content, keywords, local language translation, advertising campaigns etc

  • Conducting analysis of brands performance using multiple data sources and tools on a regular basis to ensure that performance is continuously optimised across all touch points.

  • Inventory management is vital, maintaining a healthy pipeline of inventory through accurate forecasting across all key stakeholders. Targeting a 95% in stock rate.

  • Works with internal digital marketing team to build and manage advertising budget to strategically grow brands across Europe on all marketplace platforms.

What will I need to thrive in this role?

  • Min of 7 years' commercial experience working within an ecommerce business. Marketplace experience preferable but not required.

  • People management experience, comfortable leading a team

  • Second European language preferred but not required

  • Humble and leads by example

  • Analytical and able to make sense of data and complexity. 

  • Can influence externally and internally to achieve common goals.

  • Independent, highly motivated, and focused on outcomes.

  • Able to deal with ambiguity and to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up-type environment by pivoting priorities. 

  • A proactive nature, problem and innovative solver.

  • Excellent time management and organisation skills to prioritise workloads effectively.

  • 2:1 degree or above.
