Primary Function / Purpose
Serve as a core contributor and people leader within the Ethics & Compliance (E&C) Center of Excellence (COE) – Monitoring & Data Intelligence, responsible for leading a team of 3–4 professionals and for designing, executing, and continuously enhancing risk-based monitoring and data analytics capabilities for Lilly China.
This role supports the effectiveness of the affiliate E&C program by translating monitoring outputs and data insights into actionable risk intelligence, enabling proactive identification, mitigation, and prevention of compliance risks. The position partners closely with E&C Business Partners, other E&C COEs, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive insight-led decision-making and strengthen the state of control across business processes.
The E&C COE – Monitoring & Data Intelligence role must: 1) apply risk-based thinking in monitoring design and execution, 2) leverage data and analytics to identify trends, root causes, and emerging risks, 3) enable business and E&C stakeholders to take timely and effective corrective and preventive actions based on monitoring insights, and 4) build and develop team capability through effective people leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of 3–4 E&C professionals within the Monitoring & Data Intelligence COE, providing clear direction, coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
Plan and allocate resources effectively to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of monitoring, analytics, and reporting activities.
Serve as a key contributor to the E&C COE by designing and executing risk-based monitoring programs across prioritized compliance risk areas, aligned with affiliate risk priorities and global expectations.
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve monitoring methodologies, analytics models, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to enhance risk detection, early warning, and insight generation capabilities.
Review and challenge monitoring outputs and analyses produced by the team to ensure quality, consistency, and relevance.
Analyze aggregated monitoring results and compliance data to identify trends, systemic issues, and root causes, and synthesize insights into clear, actionable narratives for E&C leadership and Business Partners.
Partner with E&C Business Partners to provide meaningful interpretation of monitoring insights and support the development of root cause analyses and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), enabling business ownership of remediation and continuous improvement.
Collaborate closely with other E&C COEs (e.g., Risk Management, TPO Management, Training & Communication) to support an integrated and scalable E&C ecosystem.
Contribute to the evolution and deployment of advanced analytics, automation, and digital monitoring solutions.
Support affiliate and global E&C initiatives related to monitoring strategy, analytics enablement, and program maturity.

Lead and support E&C projects as required and perform other responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications / Requirements
Work Experience
Minimum 10 years’ experience in ethics and compliance, internal controls, audit, risk management, finance, or related functions within pharmaceutical, healthcare, or similarly regulated industries, including demonstrated experience in people leadership.
Critical Skills
Proven people leadership capability, including coaching, talent development, performance management, and workload prioritization.
Strong analytical capability with demonstrated experience leveraging data, monitoring outputs, and insights to inform decisions and drive risk mitigation.
Ability to independently develop solutions that generate value through partnership while ensuring compliance.
Ability to establish trust-based relationships and communicate effectively with E&C colleagues, cross-functional stakeholders, and leadership.
Ability to influence credibly without authority and operate effectively within a matrix environment.
Demonstrated learning agility and strong judgment in navigating complex and evolving regulatory and business environments.
Language Skills
Fluency in Mandarin and English.

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. Demonstrated history of operating with integrity; candidates must not have had any compliance violations within the last 12 months.
