Job Description:

Sun Life is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our team as Associate Director - Data Solutions Engineer. This role is crucial in developing and implementing comprehensive solutions that will drive our business forward across our business lines in Hong Kong, with potential expansion across Asia.

• Develop Comprehensive Solutions: Design and implement data solutions covering all aspects of data management, including Master Data Management, Meta Data Management, Data Quality Management, Data Governance, Data Integration, Data Analytics, Data Privacy, and Data Architecture.

• Lead a Team: Lead a team of Data Operations Engineers to optimize performance of Data Hub and Lakehouse structure, reducing latency and ensuring high availability.

• Collaborate with Teams: Work with Data Engineers and Data Architects to introduce orchestration, reliability, and scalability in all automation jobs.

• Implement Security Measures: Work with Data Governance and Data Engineers to define role-based access controls and implement data security measures for data access to Data Hub.

• Utilize AWS Cloud Architecture: Apply strong knowledge of AWS cloud architecture and components to maximize the power of the stack and propose solutions to business problems, while remaining aligned to enterprise architecture guidelines.

• Disaster Recovery: Own and collaborate to execute the Disaster Recovery strategy.

• Cost Management: Track Data Hub infrastructure costs and propose solutions to keep costs within plan.

• Present Solutions Framework: Build and maintain the data solutions framework in business language to maximize its value and ensure reusability across other entities in Asia.

Job Requirements:

• Educational Background: University graduate or above in Information Technology discipline.

• Experience: Over 8 years in IT, with at least 4 years in data solution roles related to Data & Solutions Architecture and Data Management, preferably in the financial industry.

• Knowledge: Extensive knowledge and practical experience in Master Data Management, Data Integration, Data Solutions design, Data Architecture.

• Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills.

• Creative Thinking: For innovative solutions design and conflict resolution.

• Industry Knowledge: Up to date with market trends and best practices in Cloud & Data Technology, Solutions Architecture and Data Management.

• Technical Expertise: Big Data/Hadoop knowledge and hands-on experience, in implementing scalable, sustainable, optimized and cost effective data solutions in Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Ali Cloud.
