Responsibilities of the role:
The Associate Director, Commercial Excellence & Operations is responsible for leading and executing commercial strategies that drive business growth and enhance operational efficiency. This role requires a strategic thinker who can translate business objectives into actionable plans and deliver measurable results.
Developing and Implementing Commercial Strategies
- Lead the formulation and execution of commercial strategies that align with the company's overall business goals.
- Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of strategies.
Optimizing Operational Processes
- Evaluate and improve existing operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline operations and reduce costs.
- Monitor key performance indicators to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, marketing, and product development, to ensure cohesive strategy execution.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to drive integrated solutions and achieve business objectives.
- Lead strategic initiatives that support long-term business objectives and sustainable growth.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic planning.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with commercial and operational activities.
Requirements for the role include:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Marketing, Life Sciences). An advanced degree (MBA or similar) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Launch experience in a similar role
- Experience in rare diseases is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English and Japanese.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret market data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Passionate and innovative, with a willingness to take calculated risks and explore new approaches
- Strong knowledge of sales planning and CRM systems, particularly Veeva.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools like PowerBI.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
