Job Description Summary:

The Associate Director, Commercial Excellence & Operations is a pivotal role within the organization, designed to drive strategic initiatives that enhance commercial performance and operational efficiency. This position is responsible for leading the development and implementation of commercial strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives. The role is crucial in ensuring that the organization remains competitive in the market by optimizing sales processes, improving customer engagement, and leveraging data analytics to inform decision-making. The Associate Director will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for growth and innovation, ensuring that the company not only meets but exceeds its commercial targets. Responsibilities of the role:

The Associate Director, Commercial Excellence & Operations is responsible for leading and executing commercial strategies that drive business growth and enhance operational efficiency. This role requires a strategic thinker who can translate business objectives into actionable plans and deliver measurable results.

Developing and Implementing Commercial Strategies

  • Lead the formulation and execution of commercial strategies that align with the company's overall business goals.
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of strategies.

Optimizing Operational Processes

  • Evaluate and improve existing operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline operations and reduce costs.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, marketing, and product development, to ensure cohesive strategy execution.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to drive integrated solutions and achieve business objectives.
Strategic Initiatives and Long-Term Planning
  • Lead strategic initiatives that support long-term business objectives and sustainable growth.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic planning.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with commercial and operational activities.

Requirements for the role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Marketing, Life Sciences). An advanced degree (MBA or similar) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Launch experience in a similar role
  • Experience in rare diseases is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English and Japanese.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret market data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Passionate and innovative, with a willingness to take calculated risks and explore new approaches
  • Strong knowledge of sales planning and CRM systems, particularly Veeva.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools like PowerBI.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
