The Associate Director of Business Development is responsible for driving growth of pharmaceutical and biopharma solutions within North America by prospecting new clients, expanding existing accounts, and identifying strategic opportunities for oral and parenteral drug delivery solutions. The role focuses on market development, contract negotiation, and partnership creation to enhance the growth of Evonik Corporation’s Health Care portfolio, particularly in biopharma, CDMO services, and drug delivery technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prospect and generate new business opportunities in oral and parenteral drug delivery and biopharma markets
- Build and nurture relationships with pharmaceutical and CDMO companies
- Negotiate and manage contracts (NDAs, supply agreements, service agreements, etc.) with internal legal and quality teams
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities for product differentiation
- Collaborate on market strategies and partnerships across the value chain
- Attend industry conferences and trade events to generate leads and business opportunities
- Maintain pipeline reporting and sales tracking for business development initiatives
- Grow existing accounts and identify strategic opportunities for revenue expansion
- Support marketing initiatives and product strategies in collaboration with internal teams
- Identify innovative applications and market opportunities for existing and new products
- Ensure alignment with regulatory and quality requirements in customer engagements
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or a related field
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech business development or sales experience
- Knowledge of drug delivery systems and biopharma solutions
- Proven ability to sell complex technical products and services
- Strong relationship-building and networking capabilities
- Experience in contract negotiation and management
- Strategic market analysis and business planning skills
- Experience with CDMO or contract manufacturing preferred
- Willingness to travel and attend industry events
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Understanding of regulatory and quality considerations
- Results-driven with experience managing sales pipelines and revenue growth
Summary Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. (Specific rate to be determined, but not limited to, geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).
Pay Range: : : $111,800-$202,900
