The Associate Vice-President, Advancement is a senior leadership role within the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB), responsible for shaping and delivering a strategic fundraising and external engagement agenda that accelerates IMB’s world‑leading research impact. Working in close partnership with UQ’s Advancement and Community Engagement team, this role leads philanthropic strategy, manages high‑value donor relationships, and mentors a high‑performing advancement team. It is an opportunity to influence at scale, collaborating with visionary researchers, senior leaders, and diverse external partners to create meaningful change together.
About You
You are a strategic and relationship‑driven philanthropy leader with a strong track record of securing major and principal gifts in complex, mission‑led environments. With deep knowledge of the Australian fundraising landscape, ideally within research or higher education, you are confident engaging senior executives, philanthropic supporters and diverse external partners. You bring strong leadership capability, experience developing high‑performing teams, and the ability to translate compelling research and impact stories into meaningful philanthropic investment. Highly collaborative and data‑informed, you communicate with clarity, influence and purpose, and are motivated by creating change together through partnership and impact.
