Job DescriptionRadionix is seeking an Entry-Level DevOps Engineer at our facility located at 130 Perinton Parkway in Fairport, NY. In this role, you will join our engineering team to help build, maintain, and support the cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, automation, monitoring, and operational tooling used to deliver software for intrusion alarm systems, connected security devices, cloud services, and customer-facing applications.
This position is ideal for a motivated early-career engineer who wants to grow across cloud infrastructure, DevOps automation, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, monitoring, security, and modern software delivery practices. You will work alongside experienced engineers in a structured product development environment and contribute to reliable, scalable, and secure cloud platforms that support real-time security and life-safety applications.
Individuals in this role will participate in cloud infrastructure deployment, pipeline automation, environment support, troubleshooting, release activities, and operational improvements while learning the architecture, tools, and practices used across Radionix security platforms.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with the development, maintenance, and support of cloud infrastructure used by Radionix software platforms, cloud services, web applications, APIs, and customer-facing portals.
- Support infrastructure as code practices using Azure Bicep, with future opportunities to work with Terraform.
- Help build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, with future opportunities to support GitHub Actions.
- Assist with deployment automation for cloud services, microservices, APIs, databases, web applications, and supporting infrastructure.
- Support Azure cloud environments while helping design DevOps practices that remain portable, maintainable, and cloud-agnostic where appropriate.
- Work with senior engineers to understand cloud architecture, environment configuration, networking, security, monitoring, deployment patterns, and operational best practices.
- Participate in a structured product development and release process, including environment provisioning, build validation, deployment support, verification, and production release activities.
- Help monitor system health, application availability, infrastructure performance, logs, alerts, and operational dashboards.
- Assist with troubleshooting deployment issues, build failures, infrastructure problems, configuration errors, and service availability incidents.
- Collaborate with software engineers, test engineers, cloud engineers, architects, product owners, project managers, and support teams.
- Help maintain secure DevOps practices, including secrets management, access control, certificate handling, secure configuration, and environment separation.
- Support containerized application deployment patterns using tools such as Docker and cloud-native hosting platforms.
- Assist with documentation of infrastructure, pipelines, deployment procedures, operational runbooks, and environment configurations.
- Participate in code reviews, pipeline reviews, infrastructure reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
- Use modern development and operations tools, including source control, issue tracking, build systems, deployment tools, monitoring platforms, and AI-assisted development tools where appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Academic, internship, co-op, project, or entry-level experience with software development, cloud infrastructure, IT systems, automation, or DevOps practices.
- Foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts such as compute, storage, networking, identity, security, monitoring, and deployment.
- Basic experience with scripting, automation, or programming using tools such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, C#, JavaScript, or YAML-based pipeline configuration.
- Basic understanding of source control concepts using Git or similar tools.
- Exposure to CI/CD concepts, build pipelines, release pipelines, automated testing, or deployment automation.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts such as IP addressing, TCP/IP, DNS, certificates, firewalls, load balancers, and client/server communication.
- Interest in cloud infrastructure, DevOps automation, cybersecurity, IoT device platforms, and highly available cloud services.
- Ability to analyze problems, troubleshoot technical issues, and work collaboratively with other engineers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies, tools, platforms, and operational processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, co-op, academic project, or personal project experience using Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Bicep, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
- Exposure to infrastructure as code concepts, including reusable templates, parameterized deployments, environment configuration, and repeatable provisioning.
- Familiarity with Azure services such as App Services, Container Apps, Virtual Machines, Key Vault, Storage Accounts, Azure SQL, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, or Azure Functions.
- Experience with pipeline configuration using YAML.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration concepts using Docker, Kubernetes, or other cloud-native platforms.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as identity and access management, least privilege, secrets management, TLS, certificates, encryption, and secure deployment practices.
- Exposure to monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, or incident response practices.
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum development practices.
- Interest in intrusion security systems, building automation, connected devices, real-time systems, or life-safety technology.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools for scripting, infrastructure automation, troubleshooting, documentation, or test generation.

This role offers the opportunity to build experience across several important technology areas, including Azure cloud services, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps automation, containerized workloads, cloud networking, monitoring, cybersecurity, and cloud-agnostic deployment practices.
Additional InformationThe U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000-$87,000 annually. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
