ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Associate Designer, you will support the design team in executing the creative vision for our menswear apparel collection from concept through product implementation. You will assist in developing seasonal concepts, color palettes, and trend direction while ensuring all technical assets are accurate and up to date. This role is pivotal in producing premium, innovative products that resonate with our target customer and maintain our brand’s high standards for quality and aesthetic.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Design Execution & Support

• Assist in collecting market intelligence and trend research to keep the team informed on current menswear styles, technologies, and fabric developments.
• Support the design process by creating detailed sketches, mood boards, and technical drawings (flats) to communicate design concepts clearly.
• Build and maintain accurate tech packs, including detailed construction notes, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and trim specifications.
• Assist in the review of prototypes and sales samples; track sample status and organize the design library to ensure the team meets all calendar deadlines.
• Collaborate daily with Merchandising, Product Development, and Production teams to ensure design intent is maintained through the manufacturing process.
• Attend vendor meetings and fabric reviews to assist in the selection of materials and trims that align with seasonal stories and cost targets.
• Participate in fit sessions, taking detailed notes and updating technical sketches to reflect required adjustments.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with senior design leadership to execute seasonal themes and product stories.
• Clearly communicate design updates and changes to internal partners and overseas vendors.
• Actively participate in design reviews, incorporating constructive feedback into revised sketches and prototypes.
• Maintain the digital and physical design workspace, ensuring all assets, fabric headers, and color standards are archived correctly.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• A genuine passion for premium menswear and classic construction.
• Expert level skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop) for creating technical apparel drawings and presentations.
• Foundational understanding of garment construction, textiles, and the "better menswear" market.
• Exceptional attention to detail, specifically regarding tech packs, color matching, and trim specifications.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and pivot quickly based on seasonal needs or production shifts.
