Our Data & Technology practice is one of seven practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm. The team delivers solutions on e-discovery, digital forensics, analytics, and data strategy connected to governmental investigations, cyber investigations, and complex litigation. We help businesses, government entities and law firms to address their most complex and pressing concerns and make well informed decisions, using some of the most advanced technology, tools, and techniques. We have dedicated Forensic Technology labs in Shanghai and Hong Kong and are equipped with capability and experience to analyse and host terabytes of data in local jurisdictions. We have leading hardware equipment and are keeping learning and strengthening our technique capacity to address rising market needs on big data analytics, computer forensics and cyber incident responses.
The team supports client throughout collection and e-discovery phases to ensure data is handled with confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Our professionals conduct data collections and computer forensic analysis, as well as perform rebuilding, recovery, and presentation of relevant computer forensic information to meet client objectives. We provide workflow design and strategy for keyword search, workflow assignment setup, content analytics, conceptual search/clustering, and predictive coding, and work with clients to efficiently extract and effectively analyse client data.
The team’s consulting experience involves large, diverse, and often unstructured data sets across client enterprises including email, servers, cloud storage, social media, mobile devices, instant messaging, and collaboration tools. Our team have qualifications and experience in forensic technology, big data analytics, technology, compliance, law enforcement and cyber security.
Your role as a Senior Associate will involve working collaboratively with and learning from our diverse and knowledgeable team that has a wealth of experience in delivering excellent service to our clients.
Role Overview:
As Senior Associate, you will be working closely with the project team to become familiar with the clients' big-picture objectives and challenges. You will execute critical project deliverables to ensure these objectives are met on time and with the highest quality. You will be responsible for designing and executing efficient and innovative workflow solutions to address our client’s issues.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
Project consultation

Assist with project scoping calls and developing work stream process plans.

Coordinating with client contacts to provide project deliverables, progress, timelines and advise on strategy, workflow and best practices.

Designing and implementing intelligent workflow solutions to quickly identify the key facts, details, and merits of the case, and effectively reduce data volumes.

Analysing and interpreting client requirements and applying them to complex unstructured datasets.

Responding to client requests and setting clear expectations to internal and external stakeholders

Conducting quality control checks to ensure accuracy of tasks/deliverables related to searches, review workflow, productions, processing and exports.

Work with team leads to learn and take ownership of project tasks.

Performing the day-to-day client engagement activities, including interaction with client personnel, internal Ankura team members, and other stakeholders involved in the engagement.
Innovation

Identify, research, and organise information to assess the appropriateness and sufficiency of available data to facilitate effective data access and analysis; and

Design innovative approaches to solve data related challenges.

Requirements:
Technical skill sets
-
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Preferred degree in engineering, computer science, finance, accounting, economics, information technology, forensics, data analytics, or work experience in a related field.

Possess strong quantitative and qualitative research and analytical skills.

Familiar with the EDRM and experience in using eDiscovery products / tools:
-
eDiscovery Review/Processing Platforms: Relativity, Brainspace, Disco, Ringtail, Catalyst, Zylab, Everlaw, CasePoint, Nuix, Law, Eclipse, or comparable.

Forensic Software: EnCase, Cellebrite, Oxygen, BlackBag, FTK.

Database/Programming: Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, Microsoft Access, Visual Basic, Python, R.

Email Systems: Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes/Domino, eVault, email archive platforms.

System administration experience in Microsoft, Linux/Unix, or Macintosh;

Fluent in English and ideally Mandarin.
