Summary
Priority1 is seeking Associate Counsel to assist with all legal aspects of our business. Associate Counsel will be responsible for identifying and responding to legal risks within the organization and helping with dispute resolution, internal investigations, managing in-house and outside litigation, and helping draft policies and procedures for multiple departments.
Overview & Job Description
- The Associate Counsel will be part of a fast paced and growing company
- Responsibilities include timely delivery of quality legal advice and service to support internal clients on a broad range of domestic and international legal issues, including:
- In-house and outsourced litigation
- Insurance law and risk management
- Transportation law
- Managing relationships with company leaders to encourage and continue proactive use of internal legal counsel
- Providing leadership in the development, updating and implementation of compliance and other legal/risk training as needed for management and staff, including internal policies, privacy/data protection
- Continuous development of subject matter expertise as requested by the General Counsel.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
- JD degree from accredited law school and currently admitted to practice law in at least one (1) state within the U. S. (Arkansas preferred)
- 3+ years of legal experience within a private law firm, corporate law department or related experience and training
- Substantial litigation experience as lead counsel
- Little Rock based
- Experience in transportation industry preferred
- Experience handling freight claims preferred
