Associate Counsel

What will you work on?
As Associate Counsel, you will provide expert counsel in the areas of commercial law, licensing and intellectual property, including the review, negotiation, and management of various types of agreements and transactions (including customer/vendor, distribution, manufacturing, supply chain and licensing agreements) as well as assisting and advising on legal issues that arise for the assigned business units on a day to day and project-specific basis.
How will you create impact?

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on various commercial agreements, such as technology, marketing, sales, procurement and other commercial agreements.
• Support and provide advice on Intellectual Property matters.
• Monitor and analyze changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company; recommend and implement policies and procedures for compliance.

What are your skills and experience?

• Juris Doctorate, Called to a law society in Canada
• 2 to 4 years experience in a law firm or in-house
• Drafting, review and negotiation of a broad range of technology and commercial agreements (with a focus on agreements in distribution, licensing, marketing, procurement and similar areas).
• Knowledge of and experience with privacy and data security laws would be considered a strong asset, as well as extensive knowledge and experience with technology, commercial law, and intellectual property rights related to a children’s entertainment company.

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in Ontario is $ 118,600 to $158,100 Per Annum. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. Spin Master Inc. is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
