The Associate Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing, recording, and reporting GILLIG’s business activities in support of cost accounting systems to ensure accurate costing and recording of inventory transactions. Additionally, they act as a liaison with all departments at GILLIG to promote positive, efficient working relationships throughout the company.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Review and report on production and aftermarket inventory transactions
- Prepare inventory journal entries and supporting schedules
- Support month-end close for inventory, cost of sales, and manufacturing activity
- Analyze BOMs to support accurate product costing
- Assist with cost variance analysis and investigate discrepancies
- Reconcile inventory accounts and resolve variances
- Support physical inventories, cycle counts, and build station audits
- Prepare reports and analyses for financial reporting and inventory valuation
- Support invoicing by validating cost and billing data
- Represent the company during Buy America audits
- Partner with Finance, Production, and Supply Chain on cost and process improvements
- Perform other duties, analyses, and projects assigned by the manager
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred
- 0-2 years of experience
- Proficiency in PC applications Excel, knowledge of ERP
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP) knowledge
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk and occasionally kneel or squat
- The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Up to 5% local travel
- Standard start time: 6:30am (negotiable)
- Must be able to navigate manufacturing environment, comfortable around heavy machinery, tools, etc.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, (i.e. safety glasses, bump caps, hearing protection, etc.)
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
$70,000 - $90,000/annual salary + premium benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
