About the department:
ING’s Financial Markets division offers hedging, investment products, and securities financing solutions to clients of ING’s Wholesale Banking division. The Corporate Sales team within Financial Markets specializes in marketing risk management solutions to corporate clients in industry sectors such as Energy, Healthcare, Industrials, Tech, Media & Telecom, and Metals & Mining. Typical hedging transactions include flow and structured commodities and FX hedging, hedge coordination, interest rate swaps and cross-currency swaps. The Corporate Sales team works collectively to deliver optimal risk management strategies across products for clients.
About the position:
ING’s Financial Markets Division is looking for an experienced corporate salesperson to join its Corporate Sales team in New York. Ideal candidates will have prior experience covering corporate clients for interest rates or commodities. The position will support senior members of the team to:
- Help originate and onboard new clients in partnership with ING sector banking colleagues, as well as help manage deal execution and ongoing relationship management for existing clients; and
- Support growth in the commodities product by assisting our desk specialist with product development and client targeting.
Collaboration with team members, internal support teams, and other front office colleagues is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Sector relationship managers and Financial Markets colleagues across the Americas region to identify and pitch commercial opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
- Coordinate negotiation of ISDA and other transactional documentation in partnership with internal legal and credit risk management teams
- Prepare marketing material / market updates for clients
- Negotiate and execute derivatives transactions with clients
Qualifications and Competencies
Requirements:
- 3+ years of sales or trading desk experience in interest rate derivatives or commodities products; experience in other products is a plus
- Excellent sales and relationship management skills
- Ability to analyze financial statements and understand the subject company’s financing and financial risk management strategy and identify potential opportunities
- Experience in working with relationship managers in a team-oriented and result driven environment
- Problem solving skills and a highly motivated, self-starter attitude
- Interest and ability to develop visually appealing presentations and other marketing materials
- FINRA licenses (SIE, 7, 63) preferred; candidate required to pass NFA Swaps Proficiency Requirements
Base Salary range: $160,000-$215,000
The salary range listed reflects base salary only. This role is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus program.
