Job Summary:
The Associate Corporate Counsel is responsible for working on a variety of legal matters such as contracts (customer, service-related and vendor), litigation coordination/support, corporate governance, as well as regulatory analysis and compliance, including but not limited to: data privacy, cyber security, labor and employment. Working closely with senior members of the U.S. legal team, the associate counsel will assess risk and provide timely legal advice to appropriate U.S. business units, Company management, and other departments of the Company as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with business teams and supervising attorney on contract drafting, review, and negotiation
- Supports compliance endeavors and litigation matters
- Assist with various projects and initiatives, as needed and assigned
Job Skills & Abilities:
- Must be proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Effective communicator, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, and colleagues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments at once and balance competing demands
- Good judgment, a high level of professional integrity
- Strong research skills
- Ability to work independently
Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law college or university
- Experience in a corporate setting and/or a B to B environment either through internships(s) and/or employment is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Able to travel as needed.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at organizations’ facilities.
