About the Role:

We're looking for an Associate Contracts Manager to own our incoming contract workflow from start to finish. You'll be the go-to person for managing customer contracts from the sales team, making decisions within our established framework, and building out the systems and processes that keep everything running smoothly. This role requires someone with solid legal knowledge (background in contract law or legal operations, though you don't need to be an attorney) who can think strategically about how we handle agreements while staying hands-on with day-to-day execution.

You'll report to the Sr. Counsel, Commercial & Privacy and collaborate regularly with our Sales, Legal, and Finance teams. You'll be a key part of keeping our contract process efficient and scalable as we grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Review all incoming contracts from the sales team and assess them against our standard terms and risk tolerance
  • Identify areas that need negotiation or modification based on our decision-making framework
  • Conduct negotiations directly with customers on contract terms, pricing, and conditions where appropriate
  • Escalate contracts that fall outside our framework or require senior leadership sign-off to your manager with clear reasoning and recommendations
  • Maintain our contract management system and ensure all agreements are properly saved, organized, and easily retrievable
  • Create and implement standardized contract workflows that keep things moving efficiently
  • Develop and maintain a library of contract templates for different deal types and customer segments
  • Continuously identify bottlenecks in the process and propose solutions to streamline operations
  • Design and document long-term contract management processes and frameworks
  • Create decision-making guidelines that the team can reference for common contract issues
  • Build out templates and playbooks that enable scaling as the company grows
  • Partner with Legal, Sales, and other departments to refine processes and catch issues early
  • Work closely with the Sales team to understand their needs and keep deals moving without unnecessary delays
  • Support the Legal team on more complex agreements or matters requiring attorney review
  • Communicate clearly with customers about contract status and any changes needed
  • Coach team members on contract basics and guide them on escalation paths

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in contract management, legal operations, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in business, law, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Solid understanding of contract law, risk assessment, and negotiation principles
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, balancing efficiency with compliance
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to quickly assess contract language and identify risks or opportunities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal teams
  • Detail-oriented, with solid organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues
  • Problem-solving mindset, focused on creating lasting solutions rather than one-off fixes
  • Ability to adapt communication style across audiences, from Sales reps to customers to senior executives
  • Proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Skilled at balancing customer-friendliness with protecting the company's interests
  • Comfortable operating in legal gray areas and making sound judgment calls within a given framework

Benefits:

  • Flexible Paid Time Off
  • Paid Holidays and Floating Holidays
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, HSA with employer contribution, Life Insurance and Pet Insurance
  • 401k with Employer Match
  • Take up to 2 Days of Paid Time Off to Volunteer with a 501c Organization
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Company-subsidized membership to Wellhub and Peloton
  • Fertility and family-building information platform through Carrot

The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000 USD. The actual salary will vary depending on the applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities as well as internal equity and market data for their location. This position is also eligible for an additional annual bonus compensation through one of Pacvue’s highly attractive incentive plans, full details will be provided during the recruitment process.
