Position Purpose:

Responsible for providing editorial support to the Editorial department in a variety of capacities. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with product development and long-range editorial planning, including concepting new products 
  • Review, edit, and approve manuscript and production stages, working directly with copyeditors, graphic designers, and photo researchers
  • Create, edit, review, and approve slide decks based on style guidelines
  • Track programmatic pieces, including learning outcomes, Lexile ranges, writing prompts, student supports, text types, etc.
  • Review and evaluate BEC’s new technology products 
  • Aid in the QA of new digital products
  • Complete time tracking documentation on a weekly basis
  • Create or update Product Library documentation and product metadata as requested
  • Attend regularly scheduled and impromptu meetings with team members to discuss content, workflow, and product status

Job Requirements/Skills and Experience:

  • B.A. in English, education, or a related field (M.A. a real plus)  
  • Superior writing, editing and project management skills 
  • Current knowledge of language, literacy and content issues 
  • Intermediate-Advanced proficiency, MS Office 
  • Basic proficiency, Adobe Creative Suite is preferred 
  • Comfortable juggling several projects concurrently 
  • Able to work collaboratively with other departments (e.g., design and marketing) 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills  
  • Teaching experience is a plus
