Position Summary

General Atlantic is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Associate to join its Legal and Compliance team. This role reports directly to the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and plays a key role in supporting the firm’s global compliance program.

The Compliance Associate will focus primarily on reviewing marketing and investor-facing materials, supporting compliance policies and procedures in the United States and internationally, and contributing to broader compliance initiatives such as training, testing, and anti-money laundering oversight. The role offers meaningful exposure to regulatory matters and close collaboration with colleagues in New York City, Amsterdam, and Mumbai.

Responsibilities 

  • Support the firm’s global regulatory compliance framework
  • Review and approve marketing and investor relations materials in line with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Monitor and manage cross-border compliance matters related to investor outreach
  • Oversee political contribution and state lobbying compliance requirements
  • Draft, update, and maintain compliance policies and procedures
  • Prepare and support delivery of compliance training materials and track training completion
  • Assist with onboarding new employees and ensuring completion of compliance-related requirements
  • Oversee anti-money laundering responsibilities for certain investment products
  • Support testing, monitoring, and ongoing enhancement of the compliance program

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of prior work experience in compliance, financial services, or as a paralegal in a law firm
  • Experience reviewing marketing materials for a registered investment advisory firm or registered broker-dealer
  • Strong judgment and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Experience with AI preferred 
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work well with colleagues at all levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint
