GLG is seeking an experienced professional for the role of Compliance Senior Analyst in our Shanghai office. The individual will be part of GLG’s 70+ person global compliance department and would be required to provide timely and thoughtful support for business colleagues. In this role you will develop strong actionable business skills – including time management, prioritization, communication, negotiation, problem solving, and project management.

Key Responsibilities
- Screening and Resolutions: Conduct thorough screening of expert profiles to ensure completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness. Identify, assess, manage, and report risks in a timely manner. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to effectively resolve identified screening issues.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Gurugram and Regional Compliance teams to solve daily screening challenges using proven best practices.
- Surveillance: Assist with the firm’s compliance surveillance program by reviewing expert engagements against the GLG Compliance Framework. Identify “red flags” and policy violations, navigating issues that require deep-dive assessment.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and recommend changes to compliance procedures and standards where appropriate.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal client service professionals on queries related to China-based experts; provide prompt, accurate guidance on policy interpretation and day-to-day inquiries.
- Strategic Problem Solving: Apply a solution-oriented approach to complex compliance issues under tight deadlines. Provide thoughtful analysis and risk assessments when escalating complex matters.
- Training: Assist with or lead internal team training and strategic initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Graduate/Postgraduate with 1 years of minimum relevant industry experience in Compliance, Legal, Risk Management or a related field is required. Candidates with a legal background will be prioritized.
- Research Skills: Possess excellent internet-based research skills, with proven experience utilizing advanced search operators and public databases (such as Tianyancha, China Judgments Online, and China Enforcement Information Disclosure Network) considered a strong advantage.
- Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions or approaches.
- Language Proficiency: Full professional fluency in both English and Mandarin (written and verbal) is mandatory.
- Operational Excellence: Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize a high volume of requests in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing attention to detail.
- Interpersonal Impact: Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships based on mutual trust and respect.
- Curiosity: An eagerness to learn about diverse industries and nuanced topics across the global economy.
