An Associate Cloud Ops Engineer will work as part of a diverse global team to support development and production environments in the organizations private and public cloud environments.

Cloud Ops engineer skills

To succeed as a cloud operations engineer, professionals must possess a diverse skill set, including:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud computing platforms and services.
• General knowledge of on-premises virtualization, storage and network management
• Proficiency in programming languages and scripting tools.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments.
• Knowledge of networking concepts, such as IP addressing, DNS, Transit Gateways and load balancing.
• Understanding of data storage and database technologies.
• Experience with using containers and Amazon EKS an advantage.
• Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Administration an advantage

Cloud Ops Engineer Responsibilities

• Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
• Modifying and improving existing systems.
• Collaborating with teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.
• Deploying cloud-based systems for non-prod and prod environments
• Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
• Identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
• Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.
• Interacting with clients, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on client needs.
• Working as part of a global team using follow the sun rotations to support environments across the global
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, processes and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and team collaboration

Cloud Ops Engineer Requirements:

• Degree in computer science or a similar field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in the field of cloud computing.
• Azure, AWS, or GCP certifications preferred.
• Azure DevOps experience deploying IaC preferred.
• Troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Python scripting an advantage
• Terraform deployments an advantage
