Associate Claims Counsel

Job Description:

Old Republic Title is seeking an Associate Claims Counsel to manage and resolve title claims nationwide. This position is hybrid and candidates should be located in the Twin Cities area.

Daily responsibilities may include:

• Managing title claims from states on a national level
• Claims management includes investigating and determining coverage, correspondence with insured as to coverage and status: statutory compliance resolving title defects, directing defenses with outside counsel, negotiating settlements mitigating losses for the company, determining agent liability, and pursuing/preserving recovery. 
• Regular consistent attendance is required, that could include attendance at after hour Company events.
• Must be personable, positive, and a professional representative of the Company.

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Juris Doctor
• Licensed to practice law
• If not licensed by the state bar at employee’s office location, they must be permitted to act as corporate counsel in that state
• Knowledge of title insurance and real estate closing transactions required.
• Aptitude for processing and organizing large volume of documentation and written communications.
• Written and verbal communications are clear, grammatically correct and business appropriate.
• Accurate Typing
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects.
• Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information.
• Ability to interface effectively and professionally with customers by telephone and in written communication.
• Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible with interruptions throughout the work day.
• Problem solving ability to effectuate solution for covered claims. 

*Some Travel is expected for company events or Claims work
