Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000/year based on experience and knowledge

OVERVIEW
Verdani Partners is seeking an Associate Certifications Manager to support and manage green building certification projects across a variety of standards, including LEED O+M and BD+C, IREM CSP, Fitwel, BREEAM, WELL, ActiveScore and ModeScore, BOMA, and others.
This role will work under the general guidance and mentorship of the Associate Director of Certifications while supporting certification project management, technical documentation, client communication, quality control, and department initiatives.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with green building certification knowledge, experience, project management and strong communication and people skills who is capable of excelling in a fast pace and growing organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary:
Manage green building certification projects for the Certifications Department, primarily including LEED O+M and BD+C, IREM CSP, Fitwel, BREEAM, WELL, and BOMA.
Take ownership of certification projects from kickoff through final awards, including projects that are already in progress.
Effectively communicate technical requirements through written communication, verbal updates, and in-person or virtual meetings with project teams, clients and prospective clients.
Communicate with clients by email or on calls about specific tasks/projects, with supervisor support available to step in as needed.
Contribute to business development by supporting outreach to internal ESG client teams and maintaining client engagement touchpoints.
Monitor the Certifications Department email inbox and flag priority or time-sensitive communications.
Assist with other certifications tasks and high-quality deliverables to meet internal and external deadlines.
Work with vendors and suppliers to request quotes and set up meetings for certification-related services, industry-related software, or products.
Stay up to date on current ESG industry news and trends to make appropriate recommendations to clients.
Interface with third-party certification organizations and representatives.
Perform quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) certification reviews of work performed by other team members.
Manage strong time management, organization, and follow-through while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Secondary:
Travel to site visits under the direct supervision and guidance of their supervisor, approximately 10% of the time.
Assist with the development of offering new services, as applicable.
Assist with technical writing, reviewing and refining policies, feasibility studies, business case studies, and other green building materials.
Understand overarching goals and upcoming steps in the strategic plan, assign tasks to supporting team members to help achieve those goals.
Assist with training new hires on Verdani's company culture, department procedures, and certification project management, as needed.
Assist with educating team members on the latest green building trends and industry news related to green buildings.
Keep project documentation and files organized on SharePoint, Monday.com and other programs as applicable.
Support external/internal webinar speaking engagements, as needed.
Perform other tasks to support the growth of the Certifications Department, as needed.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, urban planning, real estate, architecture, construction, engineering, or other sustainability-related field.
3-5 years of experience in the sustainability industry, with at least 2 of those years focused on green building certifications.
Experience managing LEED v4/v4.1 O+M and/or BD+C projects.
At least 1-2 of the following green building accreditations (in order of preference): LEED AP O+M, LEED AP BD+C, Fitwel Ambassador, BREEAM AP or Assessor, WELL AP, ActiveScore & ModeScore AP, TRUE Advisor, SITES AP, and other industry-leading green building credentials.
Experience managing multiple projects at a time, including project documentation, meetings, note-taking, agendas, timelines, deadlines, follow-ups, research, memos, templates, and other relevant project management skills, from project kick-off to final award.
Experience reviewing technical reports, such as ASHRAE Energy Audits, Indoor Air Quality Testing, ASHRAE 62.1 Ventilation Testing, etc.
Ability to read, understand and interpret building floor plans, site plans, stacking plans, mechanical schedules and other architectural plans.
Technical understanding of mechanical systems such as lighting plans, mechanical schedules, systems of operation, material specifications, excel spreadsheets, and others.
Experience public speaking and/or presenting to clients on projects.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in environmental sciences, urban planning, real estate, architecture, construction, engineering, or other sustainability-related field.
3+ years of project experience managing a variety of green building certifications, including both existing buildings and new construction.
Have both LEED AP O+M (or BD+C) and Fitwel Ambassador credentials along with at least one of the following credentials: BREEAM AP or Assessor, WELL AP, and/or ActiveScore & ModeScore AP
Experience managing BREEAM, Fitwel, IREM CSP, WELL, and/or ActiveScore/ModeScore projects.
Experience with Fitwel.
Experience managing multiple green building certification projects at the same time across different rating systems.
Experience supervising, assigning, coordinating, or reviewing project work for other team members, such as interns or coordinators.

Skills Required

- Technical understanding of mechanical systems, lighting plans, mechanical schedules, material specifications, and Excel spreadsheets.
- Experience presenting and public speaking to clients on projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate technical requirements clearly.
