Job Description — Central P&A, Associate Central Allocations – Central P&A

Overview: 

The Central Planning & Analysis team is seeking a highly analytical and motivated finance professional to join the Central Allocations team. The role will support expense management, allocation processes, financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and decision support for senior stakeholders across Consumer & Community Banking and Firmwide Finance. This is an individual contributor role suited for candidates with experience in P&A, CFO support, Corporate Finance,  financial research, valuation, business finance, or management reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with finance partners, business managers, and functional teams to understand financial drivers, analyze trends, support allocation methodologies, and provide actionable insights to leadership. 

Candidates Profile: The ideal candidate is a finance professional who combines strong analytical capability with business curiosity and stakeholder engagement. The individual should be comfortable working across financial planning, expense analysis, reporting, allocations, and decision support. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys understanding business drivers, solving problems, improving processes, and providing insights that help senior stakeholders make informed decisions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly close, forecast, budget, and planning cycles for Central Allocations.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial reporting, including trends, allocation movements, recoveries, variance analysis, and business commentary.
  • Partner with P&A, CFO, business management, and finance stakeholders to understand cost drivers, allocation logic, financial impacts, and reporting requirements.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly variance analysis, identifying key drivers and providing meaningful insights to support management decisions.
  • Assist business and finance partners with ad hoc analysis, issue resolution, deep dives, and strategic finance requests.
  • Review methodologies, rules, volumes, and financial assumptions to ensure they remain aligned with business needs and Firmwide policies.
  • Develop presentations and reporting packs for senior management, clearly explaining trends, risks, opportunities, and key financial messages.
  • Familiarity with use of AI and related tools to drive process improvements and Automation across reporting, planning, and allocations. 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • MBA, CA, CFA, CPA, Post Graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: Planning & Analysis / FP&A, CFO support or business finance, Corporate finance, Expense management, Financial reporting and management reporting, Financial research or valuation, Banking, financial services, consulting, or analytics
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, expense management, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and business performance drivers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and convert analysis into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts, trends, and variances clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management and partnering skills; able to work effectively across teams, functions, and geographies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines.
  • Ability to challenge existing processes, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, including complex formulas, financial models, data analysis, and executive-ready presentation.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Prior experience in banking, financial services, consulting, or global finance functions.
  • Working knowledge of tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, Python, SQL, Essbase, SAP, or other reporting and automation platforms

Skills Required

  • MBA, CA, CFA, CPA, or a postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline
