The Associate Business Manager assists the Business Manager in executing the mutual business goals of Acosta and assigned clients. Under the direction of Business Manager manages the bulk of smaller clients’ responsibilities and supports the Business Managers with key clients.

Responsibilities
  • As an Associate Business Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Business Managers and driving our mutual business goals. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Client Support: Assist Business Partners with key clients on downstream execution tracking, tactical communication, and acting as a liaison with Marketing.
  • Metrics and Analysis: Track key metrics, plan promotions, and conduct post-promotion analysis for key clients.
  • Sales Presentations: Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations for both key and smaller clients under the direction of the Business Manager.
  • Strategic Communication: Provide tactical and strategic client communications for smaller clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Marketing Analysis: Conduct marketing analysis and category reviews for smaller clients, helping them understand market trends and opportunities.
  • Promotion Planning: Assist in promotion planning, execution tracking, and post-promotion analysis for smaller clients.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to ensure seamless execution of business strategies and client satisfaction.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the business.
Qualifications

Minimum Education and Work Experience 

  • High School Diploma/GED 

  • Bachelor of Arts Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of one year of marketing, sales, or sales support.  

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Sales skills to include understanding the sales process, contract paperwork, and client promotion systems.  

  • Presentation skills to include preparation, delivery, and handling questions.  

  • Negotiation skills to include strategy development and tactical technique.  

  • Marketing/Analytical skills to include accessing and interpreting IRI/AC Nielson data, post-promotion, analysis, and category management.  

  • Finance skills to include ability to create profit and volume strategies and understand financial statements.  

  • Logistics skills to include knowledge of order processing, inventory tracking, client and customer distribution methods.  

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Sit for extended periods (typically 6+ hours per day).

  • Use a computer, including keyboard and mouse, for prolonged periods.

  • Lift and carry light items (e.g., files, office supplies, laptops, typically 20+ pounds).

  • Reach, bend, or stoop occasionally to access files or office materials.

  • Maintain focus and attention for long periods of desk-based work.

  • Follow clear directions.

  • Perform repetitive motions (e.g., typing, clicking) consistently throughout the day.
