Magnum is the #1 ice cream brand globally known for its decadent real chocolate, over the top indulgence, and partnership with top trend setters in fashion, music, and culture. Magnum ice cream celebrated its 10-year anniversary in the US in 2021, and this candidate will have the unique opportunity to solidify Magnum as a leader in the fastest growing segment in the US ice cream market: super premium frozen novelty. Ice Cream is a category with complete interdependency between supply chain, customer marketing, finance, and marketing. As such this role will flex across the traditional brand marketing roles to help drive the business forward.
The ideal candidate will drive the business forward with out-of-the-box ideas, strong leadership of the cross-functional team, and a hunger to challenge the status quo and realize the full growth potential of Magnum in the US. In this role, you’ll handle forecasts, budget, agency relationships, and key customers for the Magnum business. The person who will be successful in this position is motivated, engaged, and passionate about taking on responsibility and being our partner in driving growth. Magnum is global business with extreme local market nuances, so close and collaborative work across innovation and operations is a must. Only as a team will we raise the awareness needed for Magnum ice cream in the US to compete against the long-standing competitors in our category. Who You Are & What You’ll Do
As an Associate Brand Manager in Ice Cream operations, this candidate is responsible for the day-to-day management of the US business for one of Unilever’s largest global brands. Working directly with our cross functional teams, this candidate will have the opportunity to craft and execute winning strategies in the marketplace. Candidates require confidence to lead internal and external teams, a bias for action, a heart for the consumer, and an ability to manage and navigate through a complex system.
Assist in the development and execution of brand plans to deliver against growth and profit targets including launching innovation and driving the core
Translate consumer insights into effective channel-specific strategies that drive market share goals across channels.
Partner with customer and channel development team to land new innovations and in-market strategic activity
Day-to-day lead/liaison with all agency teams bringing the paid, owned, and earned plan to life for the brand
Deep understanding of the competitive and customer environment including share analysis
Support Brand Manager with budget management
Support and champion our brand strategy, marketing principles, and organizational values.
Lead, manage, and motivate cross-functional team to accomplish brand goals, objectives, and key initiatives
Champion the digital transformation of the brand across all owned platforms
Develop annual and long-range brand plans and assist in the preparation of the presentation
Identify and mobilize needed resources to accomplish brand/project goals
Prepare and interpret market research analysis, analyze, and forecast results and trend
What You’ll Need To Succeed
- Bachelor degree required, MBA a plus
- 3+ years’ experience in Brand Marketing, preferably CPG
- Strong analytical skills
- Clear demonstration of successful, consistent delivery to the business
- Clear demonstration of project management & leadership skills
- Clear demonstration of consumer first mindset
- Experience/ability leading cross-functional teams, agencies, and media partners
- Proven record of drive and initiative with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to operate in a dynamic environment, and to provide innovative approaches in a team-based structure
