Job Summary
Under immediate supervision, handle claim matters in litigation for specified types of bonds. Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials when necessary with regular business travel required.
Key Responsibilities
- Relying on limited experience and knowledge, this role is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. These assignments are varied in nature.
- Monitor and respond to claim litigation for specified types of bonds in designated territories from initial receipt to resolution.
- Correspond and communicate with counsel, bond principals, claimants, and others regarding lawsuits, claims, and indemnity issues. Maintain professional demeanor and discretion with clients.
- Review legal documents, including legal pleadings, discovery, court notices and correspondence pertaining to the claim litigation.
- Prepare and draft moderate correspondence to affected parties using mail, fax, or other electronic means.
- Attend court hearings including mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.
- Maintain claim files - both physical and electronic.

Position Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements
- Minimum 4 Year / bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience.
- 2 Years Relevant and progressive professional experience
- Possess and have ability to apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
- Advanced organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company's business to proactively respond to changing business environment
- Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
For candidates working in person in Los Angeles, the reasonable pay range for this specific position is $28.46 to $42.72 per hour.
