Job Description

ABOUT BROOKFIELD

Brookfield is one of the world’s largest alternative asset managers, distinguished by a 100+ year heritage of owning and operating assets and businesses that form the backbone of the global economy. With approximately $1 trillion in assets under management, Brookfield offers a broad range of alternative investment products and services – including real estate, infrastructure, renewable power, private equity, and credit – to investors worldwide.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Client Services Relationship Manager will join Brookfield’s Global Client Group team in Hong Kong, to support our institutional client engagement and fundraising capabilities in Korea across the Oaktree product suite. As a trusted partner to the Client Relationship Management team specializing in the Oaktree credit products, this individual will play a central role in supporting our Korean investors by delivering an exceptional client experience—coordinating communication, onboarding, reporting, and diligence activities with precision and care. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and globally connected environment, balancing strong attention to detail with the professionalism and cultural fluency required to represent the Oaktree product suite to investors across Korea.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Servicing and Relationship Management

  • Partner closely with Relationship Managers on managing client relationships and delivering exceptional client services to institutional investors and third-party advisors in Korea.

  • Act as a trusted, responsive point of contact for day-to-day client needs and inquiries (in partnership with Relationship Managers), providing timely, accurate, and thoughtful responses.

  • Monitor client activity and proactively identify opportunities to deepen engagement, and strengthen satisfaction and retention.

  • Build strong relationships with operational and investment teams, deepening understanding of priorities and processes to provide tailored service and highlight Brookfield’s capabilities.

  • Serve as first point of escalation for client issues, driving swift resolution in partnership with the Relationship Manager and internal teams.

  • Organise and lead client review, due diligence meetings, and investor conferences, managing preparation and follow-through on deliverables.

  • Oversee the end-to-end client onboarding process, seamlessly coordinating documentation, reporting requirements, communication, and digital access.

Sales and Due Diligence

  • Collaborate with fellow Client Services Relationship Managers and Relationship Managers to lead or support all aspects of the investment due diligence and sales enablement for Korean institutional clients.

  • Understand clients’ investment goals, portfolio allocations, manager line-ups, and new search activity.

  • Coordinate RFP responses, data requests, and proposal materials with accuracy and consistency aligned to Korean client standards in partnership with internal teams.

  • Work closely with internal partners—including Product Management, Legal, Compliance, and Operations—to maintain effective communication between Hong Kong and global offices.

  • Assist with presentations and proposals for cross-strategy, multi-strategy, and strategic partnership opportunities, partnering with cross-functional teams as appropriate.

  • Stay informed on Korean investors’ evolving investment themes, portfolio structures, and market trends.

  • Contribute to projects that elevate the client experience, improve internal processes, and reinforce Brookfield’s reputation for excellence in Korea’s institutional market.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 3–9 years of relevant experience managing or supporting client relationships in financial services or investment management.

  • Superior bilingual communication skills (Korean and English), written and verbal, preferably a native Korean speaker, with the ability to translate technical concepts across cultures.

  • Deep understanding of Korea’s institutional credit investment landscape, including market practices, investor behaviour, and regulatory considerations.

  • Working knowledge of investment products with the ability and motivation to expand expertise in Brookfield’s offerings and operations (legal, accounting, compliance, and operational areas).

  • Proven ability to handle client interactions directly and resolve complex issues effectively.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills; capable of managing multiple workstreams while maintaining high quality standards.

  • Holding an SFC Paper 1 licence, or able to acquire licence in a compressed timeframe.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

The successful candidate should:

  • Demonstrate the poise, confidence and professionalism to establish relationships, garner support and engage team members to ensure client needs are met.

  • Have excellent oral and written business communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and simply.

  • Excel in a demanding, fast-paced environment while maintaining the highest quality standards.

  • Possess strong integrity, professionalism and dedication to excellence.

  • Have a strong work ethic and the ability to build credibility and gain the confidence of others.

  • Show intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for investments, with a willingness to learn across a broad range of strategies.
