Johnson Controls is seeking an Oracle DBA to monitor, manage, administer, and optimize Oracle databases. In this role, you will ensure high availability, security, and performance of Oracle database systems and applications. As part of the team, you will be responsible for managing the infrastructure supporting Oracle databases and applications, handling database migrations, patches, and upgrades, and ensuring system reliability and uptime.
How you will do it
- Monitor, administer and support Oracle Databases (11g, 12c, 19c), ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, application errors, and connectivity problems.
- Manage Oracle 12c/19c multi-tenant databases (PDB/ CDB) and container databases.
- Ensure Oracle database and applications comply with security best practices, including user management, encryption, and audit trails.
- Work closely with development teams to optimize application performance and integrate Oracle-based solutions.
- Monitor and manage database and application performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager and other monitoring tools.
- Provide support during major incidents, including on-call rotation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Implement Oracle database monitoring using AI tools
What you will need
Required
- 2+ years of experience as an Production Oracle DBA.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience with Oracle Database (11g, 12c, 19c) administration, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
- US citizenship. We are not able to sponsor for this position.
Preferred
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or higher certification.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud platforms for database and application hosting.
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in Oracle environments.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $70,000-85,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
