The Associate Advisory Trading Analyst primarily supports the trading, rebalancing, and portfolio operations function within the GuideStone Advisors operations team. The position will also provide overall back-office operations support of the GuideStone Advisors (“GSA”) team as it seeks to continue to rapidly grow and expand our service offerings to faith-focused investors. The work assignments will gradually increase in complexity while learning the role, under close supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. The role focuses on improving operational consistency, accuracy and reducing concentration risk in the trading and portfolio operations function, supporting scalability while allowing the senior team to focus on advisor and client support activities. The Associate Advisory Trading Analyst demonstrates the enterprise driver of Pursues Excellence by developing a foundational commitment to continuous professional growth and mastery of the trading and portfolio operations discipline. What You'll Do:
Trading & Portfolio Operations:
Provide dedicated support of trading, rebalancing, and portfolio operations.
Execute trades and support portfolio management monitoring, including rebalancing, tax optimizing trades, dollar-cost-averaging programs, and tax-loss-harvesting.
Support portfolio accounting and reconciliation of data across internal and external systems.
Improve operational consistency and help reduce concentration risk in the core trading and portfolio operations function.
Advisory Operations Support:
Support scalability of GSA Operations, allowing the senior team to focus on advisor and client support activities.
Be cross-trained on other responsibilities within the GSA Operations team, including client onboarding, portfolio model maintenance/assignments, client reporting, billing, and communication with third-party technology vendors.
Help ensure that policies and procedures are followed.
Learning & Development:
Learn and utilize relevant securities industry rules, issues, laws, and current events.
Support the utilization of the financial technology, tools, and methodology utilized by GSA.
Contribute to project teams representing the operational needs of GSA as assigned.
Foster teamwork by dedicating effort to communicate well, seek input, and contribute to shared goals.
Other duties may be assigned.
What You'll Need:
0-2 years of experience in financial services or a related field; basic skill set and proficiency.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience; preferred degree in Finance or Accounting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, including pivot tables, look-up functions, data analysis techniques, and data manipulation.
Limited travel (0-10% of time).
Exceptional accuracy and detail orientation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of investment products, portfolio management principles, and trading processes/systems.
Developing financial and technical acumen.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments/projects simultaneously.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Interest in wealth management operations.
Willingness to obtain SIE, Series 6, and 63 (or equivalents) within a defined onboarding period.
Must have complete confidentiality regarding GuideStone business matters.
