Description
The Associate Actuary will work within the Professional Pricing team in New York City and will report to a Senior Pricing Actuary. This role will work directly with the Underwriting team to evaluate deals and advise on final decision-making process. There will be great visibility to senior leadership in both the Underwriting and Actuarial teams. Responsibilities required of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Pricing Reinsurance treaties & certificates for Cyber, D&O and non-medical E&O including Lawyers, Accountants and Architects & Engineers
- Participating in client visits & audits
- Participating in annual profitability studies
- Quarterly reserving work
- Parameter studies of loss trend, loss development factors, increased limits factors
- Assisting in portfolio analytics
- Supporting ad-hoc actuarial projects
Requirements
- P&C pricing experience in the (re)insurance industry
- Pricing experience in Professional Lines and/or Cyber strongly preferred
- Experience working with and advising underwriting teams
- ACAS or FCAS
- Strong experience in Excel (formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, sorting), PowerBI and other data analytical tools
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
Work Schedule
TransRe is supportive of an agile work schedule, which may differ based on individual roles, your local office’s practices and preferences, marketplace trends, and TransRe’s business objectives. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office per week, and 2 days remote.
Compensation
In addition to base salary, for this position, TransRe offers a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity. The anticipated annual base salary range in New York for this position, exclusive of benefits, paid time off, and incentive pay opportunity is $145,000 – 165,000. This range is an estimate, and the actual base salary offered for this position will be determined based on certain factors, including the applicant’s specific skill set and level of experience.
