- Prepare required recurring analysis, including explanation of variances, for finance/business partners.
- Review assigned Profit & Loss (P&L) statements to ensure reasonableness and accuracy. Research abnormal situations and identify variances.
- Prepare, review and process journal entries as required to accurately reflect financial activities for a given period.
- Assist the business group in developing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts including gathering and sharing additional data in assigned areas, providing helpful trending (Prior year, actual vs. budget, etc.)
- Review, and validate monthly balances to ensure they are appropriately stated in accordance with established accounting practices.
- Prepare and communicate balance composition and variance analysis to management, including calling out issues.
- Prepare special financial reports requested by the business group and/or Finance management.
- Propose appropriate adjusting journal entries.
- Review expense invoices for accuracy and proper authorization. This includes but is not limited to ensuring proper approvals are in place, invoice coding accuracy & document approval chain.
- Review & validate internal financial reporting for consistency with GAAP accounting principles. This includes maintaining relevant desk procedures, checklists, and checklist performance.
- Collect information for third-party audits to assist with External Reporting and audits.
