Our global accounting team is responsible for finalising financial statements of all subsidiaries in North America, EMEA, & APAC as per the required GAAP in the respective countries. They play a large part in ensuring compliance to related regulatory guidance, compliance with accounting policies and standards, practices, and principles. This team owns the process of accurate and timely closure of financial books of accounts, audit of financial statements, and auditing processes. They maintain and improve the overall control environment over reporting and handle the entire GL management, reviews, reconciliations, including controls/oversight.
About the role:This is a role within our International Accounting organisation in Bangalore, India. This position will be part of our International Accounting team, supporting Rubrik India's U.S. GAAP accounting. This position will require strong accounting skills, the ability to effectively partner with team members around the world, execute and maintain accounting principles and company policies, strong change management skills, and the ability to drive issues through to resolution and validation.
What you’ll do?- Own and drive the month and quarter-end USGAAP Close processes and related responsibilities for the accounting department.
- Accurate and timely execution of the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate US GAAP reporting.
- Work closely with the corporate accounting team to ensure smooth monthly book closure.
- Assess risks over accounts and areas of responsibility. Apply judgment to ensure that the financial integrity of accounting entries, accruals, and account reconciliations is intact and operating effectively.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain account reconciliations consistent with GAAP and corporate accounting policies to ensure close timelines are met.
- Prepare and maintain reports/schedules for management, and prepare schedules requested by internal and external auditors.
- Research and document the company's position on technical accounting issues with the ability to communicate and present to business partners effectively, prepare a course of action for various team to collaborate and address risks/issues
- Implement and maintain the required processes and internal control environment, and perform control procedures to ensure subsidiaries comply with Company policy. The candidate will need experience in the internal control framework (SOX) of the organisation
- Stay current on evolving Accounting Standards pronouncements
- Apply professional scepticism and an inquisitive approach to review and analyse the appropriateness and reasonableness of the underlying accounting principles followed for USGAAP accounting, and help local statutory accountants with audit requests.
- Work closely with the entire CAO organisation to ensure effective compliance with policies and procedures.
- Degree in Accountancy, with CA/CPA/CWA/CMA qualification and 0-3 yrs of working experience in accounting and book close process or commerce Master's/graduate with 3 to 5 years of experience.
- Experience in prepaid, accruals, FA accounting, intercompany accounting, commission accounting, lease accounting, payroll accounting, reconciliation, fluxes and process documentations is expected.
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) and IFRS
- Analytical thinker who can identify and implement effective process improvements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. Experience in public accounting, large public companies, or the software industry is a plus.
- Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system –preferably experience in NetSuite. Reconciliation tools such as Blackline and Floqast.
- Ability to analyse financial records and interpret in simple terms to other stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational and multitasking skills, strong written and oral communication skills.
