As an Associate Accessibility Auditor, you assist in reviewing websites, web applications, mobile apps, and documents for accessibility compliance. Major Responsibilities :
- Perform accessibility audits using WCAG 2.2 guidelines , as well as relevant legal regulations such as the ADA or Section 508and assistive technologies.
- Test digital interfaces using keyboard-only navigation, screen readers, color-contrast tools, and accessibility checkers.
- Document accessibility findings with clear descriptions, severity, and remediation guidance.
- Assist senior auditors in validating accessibility fixes and retesting resolved issues.
- Review UX/UI designs for accessibility risks and provide initial recommendations.
- Collaborate with development, QA, product, and design teams during the SDLC to ensure accessibility requirements are met.
- Support the creation of accessibility reports, checklists, and audit documentation.
- Maintain awareness of accessibility best practices, emerging standards, and assistive technologies.
Education & Experience:
- Understanding of basic web technologies (HTML, CSS, ARIA attributes) and willingness to learn deeper accessibility concepts.
- Ability to identify common accessibility issues (keyboard traps, missing labels, low contrast, improper semantics, etc.).
- Familiarity with screen readers (NVDA/JAWS/VoiceOver), keyboard navigation testing, and color-contrast tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to detect subtle usability/accessibility barriers.
- Clear written communication skills for documenting issues and preparing audit notes.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to follow structured audit checklists and guidelines.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools, testing methods, and accessibility requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Design, or related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- 1+ year of experience in accessibility testing, QA, or web development (internship or project experience acceptable).
- Exposure to WCAG, ARIA, usability, or assistive technologies is preferred but not mandatory.
- Any accessibility-related certifications (e.g., IAAP CPACC) are a plus.
