United Therapeutics (Nasdaq: UTHR) seeks to travel down the corridors of indifference to develop treatments for rare, deadly diseases. We were founded in 1996 by a family seeking a cure for their daughter’s pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Today, we have six FDA-approved therapies that treat PAH, pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD) and neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Our near-term pipeline seeks to develop additional therapies for PAH and pulmonary fibrosis (PF).
The cure for end-stage life-threatening diseases like PAH, PH-ILD, PF, and many others is an organ transplant, but only a small percentage of donated organs are available to address the vast need. For this reason, we are working to create manufactured organs to address the shortage of kidneys, hearts, lungs, and livers available for transplant. We believe an unlimited supply of tolerable, transplantable organs will eliminate the transplant waiting list and cure end-stage organ diseases for which transplant is not currently an option.
Who You Are
The Associate Access & Affordability Program Manager plays a critical role in supporting the strategy, development, and execution of patient access programs designed to enable streamlined access to therapy while providing financial assistance to eligible patients.
- Manage vendor operational workflows, execution, and KPIs for patient support financial assistance programs, access programs inclusive of benefit and prior authorization/appeal investigations, and e-prescribing programs
- Manage vendor day-to-day and intraday WIP (work in process) within assigned patient access programs
- Develop, update, and implement business rules and policies that comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
- Monitor and report performance metrics, KPIs, and proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness for the team.
- Support the preparation and execution of quarterly business reviews for assigned vendors and programs
- Develop and monitor a monthly and quarterly performance tracker to assess and disseminate information regarding ongoing patient access program utilization and performance
- Work cross-functionally with internal departments to ensure alignment with strategic vision along with Legal/Compliance requirements
- Track, triage, and resolve complex cases and/or patient/HCP complaints efficiently
- Work closely with all patient service team members to ensure operational alignment
Minimum Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 9+ years of relevant healthcare experience with a High School Diploma/GED
- 7+ years of relevant healthcare experience with a Associate Degree
- 5+ years of relevant healthcare experience with a Bachelor's Degree
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in patient access and executing patient access related programs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with vendors, healthcare professionals, and cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of CRM and related Patient Support technologies
- Operational experience working on customer service programs
- Demonstrated program / project management experience
This position will be office based Monday through Friday, at our Melbourne, FL location, with working hours between 8am-5pm.
