Associate Vice President, Content & Creative

Position Summary
The Associate Vice President, Content & Creative will lead a high-performing creative organization responsible for social media content, design, videography, photography, copywriting, and influencer marketing across the University of Miami’s academic enterprise, health system, and athletics program. This role will drive the development of engaging, high-volume content tailored for diverse audiences and channels, while ensuring quality, brand consistency, and measurable impact.
The AVP will also oversee strategic partnerships and sponsorship initiatives that advance institutional priorities, expand brand visibility, and drive audience engagement—serving as the senior lead for select partnerships across the enterprise portfolio.
The AVP will be a forward-thinking, innovative leader adept at managing a high-volume team while leveraging emerging technologies—including AI-enabled tools for content creation, personalization, and workflow automation—to scale creative output, drive operational efficiency, and innovate in storytelling.
Key ResponsibilitiesCreative Leadership- Oversee social media content, design, video, photography, copywriting, and influencer marketing, ensuring a consistent and compelling brand voice across all platforms.
- Direct a fast-paced, high-volume creative shop producing content for multiple channels, adapting storytelling to diverse audiences and formats at scale.
- Ensure all creative assets and outputs reflect the University’s brand standards, maintaining excellence while enabling innovation.
- Lead the University’s social media and influencer marketing teams, driving strategy, content development, and meaningful community engagement across all major platforms.
- Build and manage an influencer program that strengthens brand reach, cultivates authentic partnerships, and engages key audiences in meaningful ways.
- Lead strategic partnerships and sponsorship initiatives that advance institutional priorities, expand brand visibility, and drive audience engagement.
- Serve as the senior lead for select partnerships across the enterprise portfolio, including relationships spanning the academic enterprise, health system, and athletics.
- Champion the use of AI and other advanced creative technologies to streamline production, enable personalization, drive operational efficiencies, and enhance creative quality.
- Drive content strategies that amplify institutional priorities across the academic enterprise, health system, and athletics, ensuring alignment with broader brand and organizational goals.
- Build, inspire, and manage a multidisciplinary creative team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous learning, and mentorship.
- Develop KPIs and measurement frameworks to evaluate content, social, influencer, and partnership performance, using data to optimize output and demonstrate ROI.
- 15+ years of experience in content creation, creative strategy, and social-first storytelling, with a proven track record of managing large, high-volume, multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing strategic, multi-channel content for diverse audiences across the academic, healthcare, or athletics sectors.
- Experience building and managing strategic partnerships, influencer collaborations, and integrated brand sponsorship campaigns across multiple platforms.
- Strong understanding of AI tools and technologies in creative production, with experience integrating them into workflows or leading teams who do.
- Exceptional portfolio showcasing creativity, innovation, and impact across multiple mediums (social, video, design, copy) and the ability to integrate brand storytelling with sponsorship objectives into cohesive, multi-channel campaigns.
- Proven ability to balance creativity with strategic objectives, ensuring content drives measurable results.
- Strong collaboration and leadership skills; ability to inspire, mentor, and develop creative talent.
- Sports experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
