Young Harris College
Young Harris College invites applications for a full-time Instructor or tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Kinesiology & Sport, beginning August 1, 2026. Candidates must hold at least a master’s degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism, Community Recreation, Sport Management, or a closely related field; an earned doctorate is preferred. A strong commitment to teaching in an undergraduate, liberal arts setting is essential. Teaching responsibilities include courses such as Health and Wellness; Risk Management in Sport and Recreation; Facility, Area, and Event Management; and Sport and Recreation Management, along with other courses based on departmental needs and the candidate’s areas of expertise. The successful candidate will join the Department of Kinesiology, Sport, and Outdoor Studies and will contribute to program development, assessment, and ongoing curricular initiatives; support and help guide the continued growth of majors and minors; and may have the opportunity to serve as the Program Coordinator for Kinesiology & Sport, depending on departmental needs and the candidate’s qualifications. Additional expectations include strong written and oral communication skills, a record of scholarly activity and/or relevant professional experience, and a commitment to effective teaching, student engagement, and collegial participation in departmental and institutional service.
