This role is responsible for leading the automation quality assurance approach for the MyWorldPanel platform while remaining actively involved in the design, build, and execution of automated testing assets.The position is suited to an experienced automation professional with strong technical depth, hands-on delivery capability, and the ability to guide quality standards in an Agile environment.
Role Overview
The SIT Automation Lead will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and stability of the MyWorldPanel platform during ongoing delivery and migration activities. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible not only for defining the automation approach and quality standards, but also for actively contributing to framework design, script development, test execution, and technical problem-solving. The successful candidate will act as the automation SME for the team, combining practical automation expertise with leadership across planning, delivery, code quality, and continuous improvement.
The role would benefit from familiarity with AI-supported testing practices, including confidence using tools such as Microsoft Copilot or similar solutions to support test design, automation, and analysis. Candidates should be comfortable using simple prompts, reviewing AI-generated outputs, and adapting to additional AI tools as they become part of SIT testing activities.
Core Responsibilities

Define and lead the automation testing approach for SIT, ensuring appropriate coverage across critical business workflows, integration points, and regression scenarios.

Remain actively involved in the design, development, maintenance, and execution of automated test scripts for UI, functional, regression, and integration testing.

Provide technical leadership on automation frameworks, coding standards, test design, and tooling choices, supporting a scalable and maintainable approach.

Troubleshoot automation failures, investigate quality issues, and work closely with developers to resolve defects and improve release confidence.

Provide day-to-day guidance and mentoring to other testers, promoting best practice in automation delivery, defect management, and technical problem-solving.

Coordinate testing priorities, planning, and execution activities in line with sprint goals, release timelines, and business priorities.

Ensure automated tests are integrated and maintained within Azure DevOps pipelines to support continuous validation and release confidence.

Work closely with stakeholders across product, development, and QA to communicate quality risks, test progress, and practical recommendations clearly and proactively.

Proven hands-on experience in automation testing and functional validation within complex application environments, including ownership of end-to-end quality outcomes.

Mandatory hands-on experience with Selenium and JavaScript-based automation frameworks, including ownership of framework structure, maintainability, reusability, and scalability.

Strong technical understanding of test architecture, scripting, and maintainable test design, with practical experience in languages such as JavaScript, Python, or similar.

Experience conducting code reviews for automation assets and promoting coding standards, quality controls, and best practice across the team.

Mandatory hands-on experience integrating automation into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, with a strong understanding of release support, continuous validation, and pipeline-based quality gates.

Experience leading or mentoring testers while continuing to contribute directly to automation delivery, technical troubleshooting, and release support.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present quality risks, priorities, and technical recommendations clearly.
