Job Description
 

The Associate Director, Commercial Supply Chain Governance & Reporting supports the delivery and continuous improvement of the enterprise governance and reporting framework that enables end-to-end commercial supply planning. This role drives the execution of governance processes, performance reporting, and planning reviews to provide visibility to master production planning, inventory management, and supply chain performance, supporting reliable product supply and informed business decision making.

Acting as a key link between strategic planning and manufacturing execution, the Associate Director delivers governance processes, planning reviews, performance reporting, and risk visibility that support alignment between global commercial supply plans and internal and external manufacturing schedules. The role focuses on enabling effective decision-making through disciplined governance, standardized processes, and transparent reporting rather than direct operational ownership of manufacturing execution.

Key Accountabilities

Planning KPIs, Performance Management & Executive Reporting

• Lead the development, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of planning performance metrics and reporting processes that support commercial supply chain governance objectives.

• Coordinate the measurement and reporting of key planning performance indicators, including Performance to Plan and Stability of Plan, to provide visibility into planning effectiveness across the commercial supply network.

• Partner with Supply Chain Therapeutic Area Leads and cross-functional stakeholders to promote consistent application of planning performance metrics across therapeutic areas, regions, and manufacturing networks, enabling transparency and meaningful comparisons.

• Deliver regular governance reporting, performance dashboards, and analytical insights that highlight planning performance trends, plan stability, emerging risks, and decision-relevant considerations for management and governance forums.

• Support the identification and communication of underlying drivers of planning performance, focusing on root cause analysis, trend identification, and opportunities for systemic improvement rather than transactional variance reporting.

• Facilitate governance reviews and performance discussions, ensuring actions, decisions, and improvement opportunities are effectively documented and tracked.

End-to-End Planning Process Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement

• Assess and monitor the effectiveness of end-to-end commercial supply planning processes, including demand signal translation, master production planning, inventory management, and manufacturing schedule alignment.

• Analyze planning performance data, governance outputs, and operational trends to identify recurring inefficiencies, process gaps, planning constraints, and drivers of supply risk, inventory imbalance, or plan instability.

• Lead or support cross-functional initiatives aimed at strengthening planning processes, governance practices, performance management, and decision-making capabilities across the commercial supply organization.

• Collaborate with Therapeutic Area Leads, manufacturing sites, and functional partners to drive alignment on improvement opportunities, planning standards, and governance expectations.

• Monitor improvement initiatives and governance actions to ensure progress is evaluated, benefits are measured, and lessons learned are incorporated into future planning and governance activities.

Planning Governance Structure & Operating Rhythm

• Coordinate and support the execution of the commercial supply planning governance operating model, including governance forums, meeting cadence, inputs, outputs, decision logs, and action tracking mechanisms.

• Drive adherence to established governance processes and standards across S&OP, Supply Review, inventory review, and execution hand-off horizons, ensuring consistency in planning reviews and decision documentation.

• Maintain governance records, decision logs, action trackers, and meeting outputs to support accountability, transparency, and effective follow-through on agreed actions.

• Promote a neutral, enterprise-wide perspective during governance discussions by focusing on data-driven decision support, plan quality, transparency, risk visibility, and adherence to agreed planning processes.

• Identify opportunities to enhance governance effectiveness through improved reporting, meeting effectiveness, escalation pathways, and standardization of planning review processes.

Qualifications

Required

Preferred

• APICS CPIM/CSCP certification or MBA (advanced degree)

• Experience with commercial biologics or sterile injectables.

• Experience with S&OP/S&OE processes and supply governance frameworks.
