We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Associate Director, Finance to join our Ireland Finance Leadership Team based in Athlone. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for financial reporting, tax compliance, governance, audit management, and internal controls across our Irish legal entities.

 

The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across Finance, Tax, Legal, Operations, and Global Corporate teams, driving excellence in financial stewardship while supporting process transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly financial reporting for all Irish entities under SEC US GAAP Reporting Guidelines
  • Present quarterly financial results and key insights to Global Finance Leadership.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, journal preparation, approvals, compliance with SOX and corporate control requirements.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial records and reporting.
  • Liaise with the Corporate Tax Team to ensure compliance with Irish Tax Legislation and reporting across multiple tax categories, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
  • Partner closely with Corporate Tax and Accounting teams, serving as the subject matter expert on Irish financial and regulatory requirements.
  • Support statutory reporting obligations and preparation of Irish Statutory Financial Statements under IFRS, reconciling the US GAAP to IFRS GAAP reporting
  • Lead internal and external audit engagements and coordinate responses to audit findings.
  • Design, implement, and maintain effective internal control frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, financial governance standards, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, risk awareness, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as the Finance lead on strategic projects and process transformation initiatives 
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, automate processes, and enhance reporting capabilities through approved AI and digital solutions.
  • Support system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives across Finance operations.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Finance team, fostering a high-performance, collaborative environment.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across local and global functions.
  • Influence decision-making and drive business outcomes through effective communication and financial expertise.

Qualifications
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 8 years' post-qualification experience, preferably within a multinational environment.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, compliance, governance, and audit management.
  • Proven track record of working within strict corporate reporting and tax deadlines.
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships across multiple functions and geographies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, implement, and sustain process improvements.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with SAP, Hyperion, or similar ERP and financial reporting systems.
  • Participation in finance system implementations, upgrades, or transformation projects.
  • Experience in a regulated industry, ideally pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or life sciences.
  • Knowledge of Irish tax and statutory reporting requirements.

Skills Required
