Our goal in R&D operations data science is to support R&D activities at Natera through data analytics and development of tools to optimize workflows and processes. As an associate data engineer on the team, you will work closely with data engineers to assist in development, maintenance, and optimization of data solutions to support our business needs.
Responsibilities

Assist in Data Pipeline Development: Help design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to support data ingestions, transformation, and analysis from various sources

Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with business and technical teams to understand their data needs and assist in translating these requirements into technical solutions.

Maintain Data Infrastructure: Monitor and maintain data systems and pipelines. You will assist in identifying issues, performing troubleshooting, and making recommendations to improve the performance, reliability, and efficiency of the data infrastructure.

Data Access and Visualization: Develop tools and processes that enable easy access to data for business stakeholders.

Learn and Apply Emerging Technologies: Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Documentation and Testing: Document data pipelines, workflows, and code for transparency and future maintenance. You will also write unit tests to ensure quality and accuracy of data processing.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Data, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Exposure to data engineering concepts, cloud platforms, and/or software development

Expertise in Python and SQL

Experience in AWS services such as S3, EC2, Lambda, Glue
-
Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake and Redshift
-
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment

Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels

Eagerness to learn new tools and technologies and take on new challenges
Nice to have:

1+ years of experience in data engineering, or a related field

Experience working in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.

Experience working with data modeling and transformation processes using tools like dbt

Familiarity with RESTful API development
The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
