Essential Functions:

Spearheads the development, implementation, and oversight of advanced technical and specialty loss control programs across all lines of business that align with organizational goals and underwriting appetite

Provides strategic leadership and direction to a team of loss control technical specialists, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and superior service delivery methods

Develops a team of high performing technical experts. Trains and mentors field staff on conducting high-level technical risk assessments, to identify special hazards and recommend effective mitigation strategies

Develops and delivers specialized training programs for internal teams, clients, and external partners

Partners with cross-functional teams, senior leaders, and external stakeholders to address complex risk scenarios

Fosters collaboration with cross-functional teams, senior leaders, and external stakeholders to address and mitigate complex risk scenarios effectively

Serves as the go-to leader for the Loss Control Team, ensuring continuity of operations and decision-making when Vice President-Loss Control is unavailable

Serves as a subject matter expert in specialized risk areas, including property protection, environmental risks, and cyber risk engineering

Drives the innovation focus for Loss Control, fostering culture of creativity and forward-thinking solutions

Ensures alignment with organizational goals and spearheads the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies

Consults with various departments to identify and prioritize loss control process improvements and technical needs of customers

Oversees the integration of emerging technologies, such as IoT, AI, and predictive analytics, into loss control practices to enhance overall services capabilities

Monitors emerging trends, regulatory updates, and advancements in risk engineering, ensuring their application within organizational practices

Oversees the development and implementation of performance metrics to ensure the effectiveness of Loss Control initiatives and drives continuous improvement. Evaluates the metrics on an ongoing basis

Represents the organization at industry conferences, technical panels, and forums, positioning the company as a leader in loss control
Education & Experience:
The education and experience below are required for the job unless labelled as preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Risk Management, Safety Science or a related technical discipline

Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields preferred
-
Ten years of progressively responsible experience in loss control, risk engineering or technical risk management
-
Experience with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives and sustainable engineering practices preferred
-
Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ARM (Associate in Risk Management), or PE (Professional Engineer) highly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The hiring salary range for this position will vary based on geographic location, falling within $138,330 - $198,267; or $152,515 - $218,599 range. A hiring range represents a subset of the full salary range. The actual salary will depend on several factors, including relevant education, skills, and experience of an applicant, geographic location, and business needs.
