Purpose of the role

To execute trades and manage risk within a defined portfolio of financial instruments and staying informed about market trends and developments to make informed trading decisions. 

Accountabilities

  • Execution of buy and sell orders or pricing of liquidity in various financial instruments while adhering to the bank's trading strategies and risk parameters.
  • Monitoring and analysis of global financial markets, economic indicators, news, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and assess market risks.
  • Management and monitoring of the risk associated with the trading portfolio and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal risk management guidelines.
  • Collaboration with research analysts and other teams to gather insights and information for trading decisions.

  • OR for an individual contributor, they will lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will identify new directions for assignments and/ or projects, identifying a combination of cross functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.
  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.

Join us as a member of Barclays’ Credit Trading team, where you’ll play a pivotal role to the US Credit Trading business by covering clients across the globe transacting in USD-denominated US High Grade, US High Yield and Latin American (LatAm) credit. With the majority of the team based in New York, you will be one of the additional Traders in Singapore pricing this product to clients in the Asia-Pacific and European regions and managing the credit risk outside of the US time zone. The Asia-Pacific client base consists of insurance companies, asset-managers, banks, wealth funds, hedge funds and private banks. You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills. That include one to two years’ job experience in proficient understanding and proven ability to effectively trade, risk manage and sell fixed income products - US High Grade, US High Yield and Latin American (LatAm) credit as well as excellent credit analytical skills are relevant for success in this role.
 

This role is regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Singapore Exchange Singapore (SGX). This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
