Responsibilities
Responsible for incident management and conducting proper problem follow-up.
Proactively monitor and manage the production environment.
Troubleshoot and resolve application problems including but not limited to job failures, feed management, monitoring, etc.
Improve or create documentation of support policies and procedures.
Support application releases, implementations, upgrades, and/or changes into the environment.
Ensure continuity and quality by owning the resolution of issues across platforms.
Track progress and escalate as appropriate unless resolution is reached.
Ensure that applications and related services are documented and kept current.
Automate and build adhoc scripts as needed to address critical business needs.
Maintain a knowledge base of known defects and issues, processes, techniques, etc.
Take part in production support rotation and respond to and resolve production problems.
Support critical business initiatives such as application deployments (pre and post activities), infrastructure changes, industry-wide tests, or disaster recovery tests.
Build strong partnership with the CIO team, infrastructure, and platform teams.
Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.
Required Skills & Experience
Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Technology Management, or related: and
3 years of experience in the job offered or a related IT occupation.
Must include 3 years of experience in each of the following:
Utilizing relational systems including Oracle and SQL Server;
Performing query data for debugging in SQL;
Applying critical thinking to handle technical troubleshooting, rootcause analysis, and to take preventative measures;
Analyzing logs, error messages, and system metrics, and understanding system dependencies and upstream/downstream impacts;
Using Splunk, AppDynamics, and Dynatrace monitoring tools to proactively detect issues; and,
Utilizing production ready software using Web, Cloud, and Hadoop distributed technologies.
