Department Overview

The Planning & Operations (“P&O”) Group drives planning, analytics, data management and technology projects while providing operational support for the Investor Partners Group (“IPG”), which has primary responsibility for all of Golub Capital’s business development and client relationship management activities. The team possesses a deep understanding of IPG’s needs and a strong set of unique technical expertise. The Project Management Office (“PMO”) subgroup is responsible for establishing and maintaining project management standards. They play a key role in supporting the business to achieve its strategic objectives, ensuring efficient project execution and establishing a properly structured project team for success.

Position Responsibilities

This position supports Project Managers in planning, executing, tracking and reporting complex initiatives across IPG and the broader firm.

This individual will act as a force multiplier for the PMO team; ensuring strong governance, disciplined execution, accurate reporting and consistent application of project management standards. The role is well-suited for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, analytically strong and comfortable operating across multiple workstreams in parallel.

This position requires close collaboration with Project Managers, business stakeholders and cross‑functional partners to help ensure initiatives remain on track, risks and issues are surfaced early and leadership has clear and timely visibility into progress and dependencies.

Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Owning assigned projects from initiation through completion, providing updates and recommendations to project teams and senior management
  • Planning and executing projects that improve processes, support new products, enable regional expansion, integrate businesses and launch technology initiatives
  • Drafting project charters and stakeholder registries, defining project goals, scope deliverables
  • Partnering with stakeholders to build effective cross-functional project teams
  • Developing comprehensive project plans and timelines as well as identifying resources and solutions
  • Defining tasks and coordinating cross-functional execution to meet project requirements and deadlines
  • Tracking risks and issues, ensuring that they are assigned and resolved appropriately
  • Preparing status reports by gathering, analyzing and summarizing relevant information
  • Leading cross-functional meetings, setting agendas and communicating next steps
  • Delivering concise presentations to senior management on project status, resourcing and plans

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8+ years of experience with at least 5 years in project coordination, PMO or project management roles supporting complex initiatives; preference for financial services
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred along with familiarity with project management methodologies such as waterfall, agile or hybrid
  • Knowledge of private markets and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders
  • Business and technical acumen with ability to define and refine requirements across the project lifecycle
  • Excellent cross functional communication, influencing and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively leverage AI tools in day-to-day work, with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, limitations and appropriate use of AI generated outputs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Visio, MS Project, SharePoint)
  • Enthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work culture

Compensation and Benefits

For New York Only: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $160,000 to $180,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an ‘at-will position’ and the Firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance, Firm or individual department / team performance and market factors.
