MUFG, a globally respected financial institution, is seeking an Assistant Vice President Agency Transaction Manager to join their London-based team within the Transaction Processing Unit. What you'll do:

  • Provide comprehensive support and guidance to facilitate the accurate completion of daily transaction processing activities in accordance with head office rules and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify the work of fellow team members meticulously to ensure all outputs meet stringent quality standards and regulatory obligations.
  • Assist line management by controlling daily workflows, helping to guarantee timely completion of all operational responsibilities within the department.
  • Contribute actively to the creation, review, and maintenance of policies and procedures, ensuring they remain up-to-date and effective for all aspects of agency transaction management.
  • Offer general support for project implementation as required, collaborating closely with colleagues to deliver successful outcomes on time.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including Front Office teams, lenders, external legal counsel, and borrowers to administer events on loan portfolios efficiently.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for resolving issues and escalating concerns when necessary, using your specialist knowledge to address queries promptly.
  • Build strong working relationships throughout MUFG by establishing a peer network that supports information gathering and effective inter-departmental collaboration.
  • Operate as a product specialist by providing subject matter expertise on agency loan transactions whenever required by colleagues or stakeholders.
  • Maintain front-to-back oversight of amendments, waivers, covenant tracking (including ESG), security trustee responsibilities, collateral monitoring, and borrowing base maintenance.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrated experience working within manual operations environments where attention to detail is paramount under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Proven background in syndicated or agency loan operations with hands-on exposure to complex transaction processing requirements.
  • Track record of facilitating calls and meetings with external legal counsel, borrowers, and lenders while delivering excellent client service at all times.
  • Strong computer literacy skills including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with both LMA (Loan Market Association) and LSTA (Loan Syndications & Trading Association) loan documentation standards is essential for success in this role.
  • A level or equivalent education is required; candidates holding a bachelor’s degree will be viewed favourably.
  • Working knowledge of Debtdomain and LoanIQ platforms would be advantageous but not mandatory for consideration.
  • Exceptional communication skills combined with an empathetic approach that fosters trust among colleagues and clients alike.
  • Ability to operate calmly under pressure while managing large workloads without compromising accuracy or attention to detail.
  • A proactive mindset coupled with sound judgement skills that enable effective risk identification and escalation when necessary.
