We are seeking a talented senior manager to join our Business Development division in Marsh. This role will be based in Georgetown, Penang. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working as per respective team's arrangement.
You can expect to be part of a diligent division where you will enhance your sales expertise and data-driven insights to help clients tackle some of the world’s most challenging and complex risks . There will be opportunities to collaborate with diverse colleagues and stakeholders across various lines of business within Marsh.

Assistant Vice President, Business Development

We will count on you to:

  • Achieves sales goals by maintaining and gaining large, high- yield accounts through referrals, conducting strategized cold calls, following up on RFPs, general market exposure and frequent interactions with existing accounts.

  • Maintains a thorough awareness of market occurrences including important developments, trends, competitors' positioning and the status of business contracts to assist in identifying potential business opportunities.

  • Under minimal supervision drafts comprehensive due diligence reports and presentations containing fundamental qualitative and quantitative assessments in response to a request for proposal or to assist a senior colleague to gain business.

  • Constructs targeted standard marketing plans for business offerings and/or concepts directed at small, straight-forward potential accounts and aspects of complex marketing plans for use by senior colleagues.

  • Belongs to various professional organizations and attends conferences and events to expand and maintain a large professional network and represent the company.

  • Collects insights and information on relationship satisfaction and reports results to senior colleagues offering context and suggestions when needed to best ensure account satisfaction and retention.

What you need to have: 

  • A Degree holder with at least 6-8 years of sales experience preferably within financial services industry or from a professional services firm.

  • Passion for sales and networking with corporate professionals

  • Excellent communication skills including articulation, grammar and persuasion

  • Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects, and rapidly changing priorities

  • Strong business acumen and project management with exceptional analytical skills.
