We are currently looking for a part time Radiation Therapist Assistant Unit Leader- Treatment, to join our Albury Radiation Oncology team on a 12-Month max term contract.

The Radiation Therapist Assistant Unit Leader (AUL) is primarily a clinical role that supports the efficient and effective provision of radiotherapy treatment on the treatment unit and provides management level assistance to the leadership team. The AUL also plays a key role in the education and assessment of students and staff.

We strongly focus on professional development and patient care managed by a supportive, compassionate, multidisciplinary team of dedicated healthcare professionals, with experience in oncology working across 3 Linacs, superficial, CT and newly implemented planning hub.

More specifically, you will:

  • Supervise the efficient and effective provision of radiotherapy treatment of a large regional team, ensuring correct and safe administration of all radiation therapy procedures
  • Implement QA procedures for the relevant area of responsibility, including but not limited to the review of treatment plans and ensure treatment protocols are adhered to
  • Actively promote and participate in potential research and development activities for the site
  • Promote and contribute to an effective multidisciplinary team.
  • Actively support and champion GenesisCare initiatives to improve culture, quality, efficiency and effectiveness, taking on a leadership role within projects where required
  • Provide support to the Unit Leaders with the ability to cover during leave periods
  • Effectively assist in people management processes as required, including annual performance development processes and providing performance feedback in a timely manner
  • Contribute to the implementation of efficient & effective Centre workflow processes and evaluate and implement continuous improvement initiatives as identified
  • With the Unit Leaders, manage utilisation of the unit’s infrastructure and resources including patient throughput and management/compliance of quality processes
  • Manage and coordinate the supervision of students

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Demonstrated technical competence in all areas of radiotherapy, including comprehensive knowledge of contemporary radiotherapy modalities and techniques
  • Demonstrated experience in Varian, ARIA and MOSAIQ platforms
  • Ability to demonstrate and implement leadership behaviours
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and sound knowledge of change management principles.
  • Strong knowledge of radiotherapy and associated allied healthcare services
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software for data analysis and reporting purposes
  • Business related knowledge is desirable but not mandatory
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree as relevant
  • Registration as a Radiation Therapist with AHPRA
  • Current NSW Radiation Use Licence
