The Brooks Assistant Trailhead Sales and Community Manager will work closely with the Trailhead Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager – Product and Operations to lead the Brooks flagship store team and represent the best of the brand to our consumers and business partners. This high visibility role will be part of the store management team responsible for delivering the level of service our runners have come to expect from the Brooks brand. Your primary responsibility will be to drive sell through and staff engagement.
You will also assist the Store Manager to ensure the team is fully trained in store procedures and products and are providing exceptional service to everyone who comes through the door. You will also organize events focusing on outreach development, driving community engagement, hometown run culture, repeat customers, brand trust, and sales opportunities. You and your entire team are Brooks brand ambassadors.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Store Manager to:
- Lead the overall operation of the Brooks flagship store to achieve budgeted sales and cost goals
- Coach, develop and manage performance of the store team to provide a premium level of service to our consumers like no other brand can. Train staff to treat everyone entering the store, from elite athletes to first time runners, with the same degree of enthusiasm, support, and acceptance regardless of their abilities.
- Encourage an environment of sharing excitement about the run, storytelling, and supporting people’s efforts to “Live Brooks” through being active and staying healthy.
- Drive sales to meet established revenue, margin, and expense targets.
- Develop innovative grassroots community events and programs from the Trailhead.
- Be an expert at driving product sell through and coach/lead staff in this area.
- Create and manage staff incentive programs.
- Educate and motivate the store staff on selling techniques and the consumer on Brooks technology.
- Develop and facilitate quarterly sales training for staff.
- Lead store activations around product launches by partnering with retail marketing department.
- Develop and lead community events intended to boost sales, educate and familiarize people with our brand.
- Act as a back up to place inventory orders and partner with the Brooks Distribution Center to manage inventory flow when the Trailhead Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager – Product and Operations, are on scheduled PTO.
- Create store schedules for effective staffing when the Assistant Store Manager – Product and Operations, is on scheduled PTO.
- Work the sales floor. Be an expert at product knowledge, driving sell-through, and service-oriented storytelling.
- Partner with Trailhead Store Manager to develop and implement a Trailhead social media plan, including social media activations (posts, stories, etc.) that highlight product and community events.
- Provide feedback and analysis to the Trailhead Store Manager and Manager, Retail Operations on a regular basis to ensure the store is operating at the high level of service and performance that Brooks expects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in sales, marketing, business administration, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of retail experience
- 1 year of leadership/management experience within the retail industry, preferred
- Knowledge of retail math, inventory management, turn, gross-margin, open to buy, product merchandising and retail selling skills, preferred
- Highly-motivated and energetic with an enthusiastic attitude
- Knowledge of performance athletic footwear/apparel/accessories and their related technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication.
- Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust, resulting in effective working relationships across the store and company.
- Ability to successfully lead independently or alongside the store manager.
- Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all of the pieces fit together and affect one another.
- Ability to anticipate how a decision made can affect our customers, our partners, our products or other departments’ operations and/or morale; “connecting the dots.”
- Demonstration of innovation and initiative - always looking at improving processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help out wherever necessary.
- Passionate participation in Brooks’ sports activities a plus, overridden by the ability to understand and empathize with the runner in order to develop loyal, engaging relationships with our customers and the Brooks community.
- Ability to lift packages up to 50 lbs.

Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $22.81 - $31.95 per hour. Base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
